PRODUCT REVIEW : BLACKUP

Hello my beautiful parfait readers, how has everyone been? We are almost at the end of the year. How time flies right? Can't believe I was just laughing at people making new year resolutions because I know they would never keep them and yeah I will laugh at the same set of people again pretty soon Lol.
I recently contacted by  the gorgeous Tola, the Head trainer for Blackup Paris for West Africa ( Click Here to visit her blog) informing me of a package that BlackUp Paris had for me (Yaaay for Makeup Products lol)

The package contained some of the latest products from Blackup that I have actually been meaning to try out. So I was beyond excited when I got them.

BLACKUP PERFECT EYEBROW

What Blackup says
Blackup Perfect Eyebrow, thanks to the perfect design, perfectly defines the eyebrow line.
Its creamy texture guarantees a comfortable application and a powdered finish for an ultra-natural makeup
I got this in SP02 which is a dark brown.
The packaging is really cute, from the picture you can see it looks like a lipstick tube.
The design is a bit funny, one side is pointed and the other is slanted.
I filled in the bottom and top parts of my brow with the pointed side and filled in any gaps with the slanted side.
Its really easy to use provided you are light handed cos you can go overboard if you are not careful.
I really like this brow product and it lasted the whole day without fading but just a bit concerned on how to use it when the sharp end becomes flat. Maybe I'll use my angled eyebrow brush......will keep you guys posted.
They are available in 3 colours.

WATERPROOF SMOKY MATTE PENCIL
Now this I was looking forward to trying, because I have used the waterproof smoky kohl pencil which was creamy and super soft so I wanted to know what the 'Matte' was all about.

What Blackup says
The waterproof smoky matte pencil associates a creamy formula and deep colours. This matte finishing must-have enhances the eyes in just one precision stroke, for a professional long lasting look
I recieved this product in two shades MS07 which is a dark brown and MS01 a bright blue
The pencils are very pigmented and have a matte finish to them which is different from the smokey kohl pencils that have a creamy (some of them have some shimmer) finish that dries matte.
I especially love the brown as I have been looking for a pigmented brown eyeliner for my waterline.
These pencils come in 8 colours

2 in 1 LIP PENCIL
Now these pencils originally came in 12 colours and Blackup recently released 6 new colours and I got two colours in my package.
 What Blackup says
This 2 in 1 pencil (pencil sharpener provided) glides on the lips to both define contours with high precision and coat lips with an intense semi matte veil
I received JUM14 (light pink) and JUM18 (deep red)

The pencils are creamy and very easy to apply and you can wear them as a lip colour, they also have a semi matte finish which is good enough for me to be honest. They also come with their own sharpeners attached to the cover.
They are very pigmented and very long lasting. I wore the pink to a Photo-shoot and it stayed put the entire time and left a beautiful pink stain when I wiped it off with baby-wipes.

I also received a nail polish from their new polish collection which is amazing. Please check them out as the colours range from gorgeous nudes to beautiful reds and purples.
So there you have it my parfait beauties. Hope you found something you liked. I am very impressed with the new products and look forward to future releases by Blackup.

NEW PRODUCT PURCHASE : Muapro.

Hello parfait beauties, feels like I haven't been here in forever and I hate feeling this way so I am making a serious effort to give 85 percent of my attention to this blog :)
Okay, onto the business of the day. I have been on the hunt for a new foundation as I am tired of all my other ones and for some funny reason, my skin doesn't quite agree with any of my foundations anymore.
Another thing I realized is that of recent my skin has been loving cream foundations and whenever I wear anything remotely oil-free, my skin revolts....talk about old age lol. So until I understand why, I have been reaching for my mac full coverage foundation and its been holding up.

ALL HAIL THE QUEEN....Latifah's Makeover.

Hello parfait beauties. Its a beautiful Monday morning and I just love Mondays. Mondays remind me of a new chance, a new opportunity to start afresh and do what I couldn't do last week (basically this is me trying to get you to love Mondays :))

Today I will be sharing the products and a bit on how I achieved this look on Latifah. Latifah is fast becoming my muse and I just love that she shares my passion for minimal eyes and dark lips and did I mention she has impeccable fashion sense?

She was going for an evening event and she had an all white and nude ensemble so I decided to keep the look clean and simple, neutral eyes, winged liner and drama on the lips.

I started by applying Clarins beauty flash balm ( love this product) mixed with black up mattifying primer to moisturize and fill in her pores and also mattify any shiny areas on her skin.
Then I mixed blackup cosmetics full coverage foundation in number's 5 and 7 with blackup mattifying fluid foundation in number 7 (sounds like a lot I know but I had to mix to get her exact match and they also served as concealers for highlighting and contouring)
I set under her eyes with blackup two way cake TW01 and set the rest of the face with TW01 and TW11.
I applied Jordana bronzer for some light and contoured slightly with sleek contour kit in medium followed by Blackup blush in NBL 10 to the apple of her cheeks.

For the eyes, I filled in her brows with black opal eyebrow pencil in brown, the applied blackup sublime powder in PS06 to her entire lid with a fluffy blending brush. I applied some blackup pearl powder to her inner tear duct for some sparkle. Then lined her upper lash line with blackup pen eyeliner and lining the lower lash line with Blackup khol pencil.
I finished off by adding two coats of blackup vibrating lengthening mascara to her lashes.

Finally for the lips (My fave) I lined her lips with blackup matte lipstick in M29 and filled in the rest of the lips with Blackup lipstick in no 13

And there you have it, she was ready to take over the world....well take over the party heheh.
Have a Parfait week dolls. See you in my next post. xoxo

BLACK UP COSMETICS New lipsticks/swatches.

Hi parfait beauties, 'trust your week is going well. Yeah thank God is Friday, for some people atleast. Its Friday and a perfect day to pick up a new lipstick....ofcourse lipsticks make everything better and today is a good day to reward yourself with a killer lippie.

I have not always been a fan of lipsticks but today I am a HUGE fan...saves me the whole "hair getting stuck on your face with the whole lip-gloss on your lip thing", Yeah gross.

Blackup cosmetics recently added some amazing shades to its already existing shades of lipsticks and I was able to swatch them and will be showing you in the images below. (please forgive the picture quality as I am working super hard to get a better camera).

This is what blackup has to say about the lipsticks:

A collection of 30 addictive shades that look radiant on lips upon application. A panoply of irresistible colors with bright Nudes that layer to deep Black through Candy pink, Poppy red and Vibrant coral must have.
Their unique highly pigmented formula dresses up the lips with an intense veil that covers evenly and perfectly reveal color on lighter to very dark skins. Our Lipstick Collection is paraben free as well as fragrance free.
  • 18 Satin finish lipsticks
  • Thanks to their smooth comfortable texture, those lipsticks glide on the lips to offer perfect coverage and radiant color.
  • 12 Matte lipsticks
  • Their semi-matte texture covers the lips in beautiful veil of velvety colour. The lips stay comfortable and the color impeccable for 8 hours.

Having worn and worked with these lippies I must say blackup was not lying. The matte textures are not very drying and the satin shades are super pigmented and long lasting.

The "M" behind the numbers stand for Matte, while the lipsticks without the "M" are satin finishes.

Hello parfait beauties, trust everyone is doing well. I have missed blogging a lot and you know when life gets in the way its kinda hard to keep up but I will try to keep this blog as updated as possible.

Without further rambling I created this look a while back but never got to post it though I have a picture up on instagram and yes if you are not following, you really should be @parfaitvisage.

Please find below the pictorial I did for the look and all the products used will be listed as well. Have a parfait week and see you guys in my next post xoxo

    1. Start with clean eye area. I applied a gold highlight to my brow bone area.
    2. I applied a midtone brown to my crease blending out to meet the brow bone highlight
    3. Next I applied a pink shadow to the crease.
    4. I then applied a black eyeshadow to the outer v.

    5. I applied the same pink eyeshadow to my eyelid area blending into the black on the outer v.
    6. I applied a glitter primer and then followed with pink glitter to the middle of the lids
    7. Next I applied a black liner to my upper lash line.
    8. Before applying the false lashes I applied some pink eyeshadow and glitter to the lower lash line.

    9. I applied some concealer to my under eye area.
    10. This helps to brighten the overall eye area and also provides a subtle highlight.
