CURIOUSLY BEAUTIFUL

Hi parfait beauties, I have missed everyone and missed blogging like no man's business. I tried doing a picture tutorial last week but the weather and lighting wouldn't let me win so I threw in the towel and had green tea with lemon instead (the joys of rainy season...lol) However I promised myself that I would post a tutorial today no matter what.

The look I did today was inspired by the sleek "curious" eyeshadow palette. I used to love this palette so much and used it every single day till I thought I lost it and what do you know, the prodigal palette returned today.

Without further rambling I present a look I appropriately titled "CURIOUSLY BEAUTIFUL" Enjoy the tutorial and as always all products will be listed below.

ALL HAIL THE QUEEN....Latifah's Makeover.

Hello parfait beauties. Its a beautiful Monday morning and I just love Mondays. Mondays remind me of a new chance, a new opportunity to start afresh and do what I couldn't do last week (basically this is me trying to get you to love Mondays :))

Today I will be sharing the products and a bit on how I achieved this look on Latifah. Latifah is fast becoming my muse and I just love that she shares my passion for minimal eyes and dark lips and did I mention she has impeccable fashion sense?

She was going for an evening event and she had an all white and nude ensemble so I decided to keep the look clean and simple, neutral eyes, winged liner and drama on the lips.

I started by applying Clarins beauty flash balm ( love this product) mixed with black up mattifying primer to moisturize and fill in her pores and also mattify any shiny areas on her skin.
Then I mixed blackup cosmetics full coverage foundation in number's 5 and 7 with blackup mattifying fluid foundation in number 7 (sounds like a lot I know but I had to mix to get her exact match and they also served as concealers for highlighting and contouring)
I set under her eyes with blackup two way cake TW01 and set the rest of the face with TW01 and TW11.
I applied Jordana bronzer for some light and contoured slightly with sleek contour kit in medium followed by Blackup blush in NBL 10 to the apple of her cheeks.

For the eyes, I filled in her brows with black opal eyebrow pencil in brown, the applied blackup sublime powder in PS06 to her entire lid with a fluffy blending brush. I applied some blackup pearl powder to her inner tear duct for some sparkle. Then lined her upper lash line with blackup pen eyeliner and lining the lower lash line with Blackup khol pencil.
I finished off by adding two coats of blackup vibrating lengthening mascara to her lashes.

Finally for the lips (My fave) I lined her lips with blackup matte lipstick in M29 and filled in the rest of the lips with Blackup lipstick in no 13

And there you have it, she was ready to take over the world....well take over the party heheh.
Have a Parfait week dolls. See you in my next post. xoxo

BLACK UP COSMETICS New lipsticks/swatches.

Hi parfait beauties, 'trust your week is going well. Yeah thank God is Friday, for some people atleast. Its Friday and a perfect day to pick up a new lipstick....ofcourse lipsticks make everything better and today is a good day to reward yourself with a killer lippie.

I have not always been a fan of lipsticks but today I am a HUGE fan...saves me the whole "hair getting stuck on your face with the whole lip-gloss on your lip thing", Yeah gross.

Blackup cosmetics recently added some amazing shades to its already existing shades of lipsticks and I was able to swatch them and will be showing you in the images below. (please forgive the picture quality as I am working super hard to get a better camera).

This is what blackup has to say about the lipsticks:

A collection of 30 addictive shades that look radiant on lips upon application. A panoply of irresistible colors with bright Nudes that layer to deep Black through Candy pink, Poppy red and Vibrant coral must have.
Their unique highly pigmented formula dresses up the lips with an intense veil that covers evenly and perfectly reveal color on lighter to very dark skins. Our Lipstick Collection is paraben free as well as fragrance free.
  • 18 Satin finish lipsticks
  • Thanks to their smooth comfortable texture, those lipsticks glide on the lips to offer perfect coverage and radiant color.
  • 12 Matte lipsticks
  • Their semi-matte texture covers the lips in beautiful veil of velvety colour. The lips stay comfortable and the color impeccable for 8 hours.

Having worn and worked with these lippies I must say blackup was not lying. The matte textures are not very drying and the satin shades are super pigmented and long lasting.

The "M" behind the numbers stand for Matte, while the lipsticks without the "M" are satin finishes.
